The Ballad of Mable Wong

The Ballad of Mable Wong are an instrumental rock band based in Glasgow.

Rory McIntyre - Guitar/Bass
Joanne Murtagh - Xylophone
Laurie Pitt - Drums
Michael Kent - Bass/Guitar

Weenliz

Weenliz are Ian MacCorquodale (Bass), Kenny Love (Guitar, Knives, Drill), Laurie Pitt (Drums) and William Robertson (Vocals, Sample/Drum Machine). Their music is abrasive noise, sometimes coined "no rave".

Their live shows were consistently anarchic, once getting them banned from the 13th Note.

Gropetown

Gropetown formed after the demise of local bands Weenliz and Grozny. Initially the lineup was Duncan Young (guitar), Ian MacCorquodale (bass), Laurie Pitt (drums), William Robertson (Guitar). On the afternoon of their first gig Kenny Love and Julia Scott were asked if they'd like to sing and they said yes.

Ultimate Thrush

Ultimate Thrush are celebrated for their live performances, often featuring theatricals and costume. Their music, played by Laurie Pitt (drums), Oliver Pitt (Guitar) and Ross Little (Vocals), is sensational.

L'ocelle Mare live at West Princes Street 25th October 2011

Here is the audio from the gig on 25th october 2011 at west princes street, recorded by Colin Stewart. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed all the great stuff.

It was £4 to get in (plus some donation at the end). Everybody paid in apart from the musicians and we had £82 at the end. £80 for L'ocelle Mare's train back home and £2 for communal curry. Massive thanks to the local artists who volunteered to waive their fee for this one.
